THE REBELLES "DOUBLE DATE"

FIONA LEE MAYNARD & HER HOLY MEN + ELI SCHOULAL (RRR)

FRIDAY 7TH FEBRUARY

$5 ENTRY FROM 8:30PM

The Rebelles, Melbourne’s very own Girlgroup Sensation, are tearing into 2014 with a quadruple bill of Double Dates – hooking up with some of their favourite fellow Melbournites at Brunswick’s Spotted Mallard in February, March, April and May.

With The Rebelles still too young to settle down, each month they’ll be Double Dating with an equally great band and some of Melbourne’s best dance floor filling DJs for your rocking romantic pleasure. Paramouring with The Rebelles first up on Friday 7 February is the always incredible Fiona Lee Maynard and Her Holy Men.

And to top it all off, there'll be hip and happening tunes by Eli Schoulal, DJ extraordinaire and host of RRR’s Hellzapoppin’.

Be the first in your street to collect all four Double Dates! Kick off your collection on Friday February 7th at Spotted Mallard!

The Rebelles are fifteen wondrous women servin’ up a wall of girl group greatness. With punk energy, harmonic panache and a bad-but-not-evil glint, The Rebelles have developed a reputation as one band you simply have to see.

It shouldn’t be possible. You just shouldn’t be able to find fifteen fantastic singers, organise them into pitch perfect three part harmonies, rediscover the brilliant girl group songs from the early sixties and blast them into the twenty-first century with a kick arse show that reminds crowds of how live music is meant to be played – always swingin’, usually fast and definitely loud!

Backed by their very own blisterin’ four-piece band, The Rebelles are a genuine, bona fide, proper rock’n’roll band that believe in the power of rock and the importance of putting on an unforgettable show each and every time they hit the stage. The Rebelles serve up a real, live wall of sound, with the unstoppable energy and spectacular force of 19 people on stage coming together as one.

The Rebelles remain committed to their mission of breakin’ hearts, tearin’ up stages and makin’ the impossible a reality. It’s big, it’s bad, it’s like nothing else on earth and goddamn it’s fun!

Musical Missionaries Fiona Lee Maynard & Her Holy Men are determined to entertain; "Deadly serious musicians with their tongues firmly planted in their cheek”. When the spirit moves you - feel free to dance & speak in tongues!!! Few bands can claim to be only one year old, yet have over 100 years of collective music experience! Revelling in new musical faith, Fiona Lee Maynard & Her Holy Men can make that claim, with a genealogy including The Johnny’s, Have A Nice Day, In Vivo & UnAustralians.
