RON S PENO & THE SUPERSITIONS

VALENTINES DAY SHOW

WITH SPECIAL GUESTS TRANS SKY

FRIDAY 14TH FEBRUARY

PRESALES $15 + BF (TICKET HOLDERS WILL RECIEVE COMPLIMENTARY GLASS OF CHAMPAGNE UPON ARRIVAL) AVAIL HERE

With their new album, Anywhere And Everything Is Bright, receiving rave reviews and making the ubiquitous end-of-year best of lists, and after packing out shows at Labour In Vain and The Old Bar, Ron S. Peno and The Superstitions play their first headline concert of 2014 at the Spotted Mallard (314 Sydney Rd, Brunswick) on Friday February 14. This show is not to be missed; it's an opportunity to see one of Australia's legendary front men strutting his stuff with his exciting new band.

Special guests are Trans Sky. Trans Sky is the new band from Richard Andrew (ex Registered Nurse). Trans Sky began after the discovery of a box of cassette tapes of songs recorded by Richard's uncle (Thurston Loch) in the early 1970's. Mr Loch moved to the South African state of Transkei soon after. Richard has re-recorded some of the songs as the band TRANS SKY - named in his uncle's honour.

“Beautifully mixed by Charles Fisher, this album might be called Anywhere And Everything Is Bright, but it’s a deep, dark record that demands – and rewards – repeated play.”

Jeff Jenkins - Stack Magazine

“The extraordinary closing song, Call Your Name (To Say Goodbye) , is as powerful as anything in Died Pretty’ s catalogue. Which is to say , very powerful indeed. ”

Noel Mengel - Chief Music Writer | Brisbane Courier Mail

”If Peno's first record with the Superstitions was a glimpse of his enduring creativity, the second outing is a luminescent musical event.”

Patrick Emery - The Age | Sydney Morning Herald
